Bank Otkritie (aka Open Bank) is a prominent commercial bank in Russia, operating over 440 offices across the country. The bank offers a wide range of services, including commercial activities, securities and currency trading, loans, and guarantees.
At Redmadrobot, we worked with the project as a fully dedicated product team for about two years. We developed the core app functions from scratch and supported various banking business processes for entrepreneurs, such as payments, loans, deposits, and card maintenance, fully online 24/7.

In 2018, the management approved a new development strategy for the small and medium-sized business sector.
The strategy was designed for three years, from 2018 to 2020 inclusive. One of its goals was the active acquisition of new clients and strengthening the loyalty of existing ones. This could be achieved by continuously improving the quality of service and the level of provided services across various banking channels. One of the priority new channels was a mobile application for clients, which was yet to be developed. For entrepreneurs, the ability to solve business tasks on the go is essential.
I joined the project as a product product manager in a team when they launched the initial version of the bank's mobile app.
My main responsibility was to handle user engagement, push-notifications, B2B transactions, adoption of loan services and some additional R&D topics.
Based on various business requirements and technical restrictions, I have managed to find, design, test and launch numerous features. Over a 6-month period, this led to substantial improvements in user engagement, increased adoption of loan services, and a 2% growth in in-app payment transactions.

The project received recognition and awards in several competitions, such as Golden App 2018, European Design Awards 2019, and Tagline 2019 - Showreel for European Design Awards 2019
Later on, we transferred all of our valuable experience and knowledge to the in-house product teams of the bank. We provided them with assistance in the process of hiring new team members and establishing a robust and efficient in-house design practice.
